Supportive Services for Veteran Families SSVF

Community Action offers the The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. This program works to assist homeless Veteran families and to prevent homelessness for those at imminent risk due to a housing crisis. The SSVF program focuses on helping individuals and families access and sustain permanent rental housing, increase income through employment and benefits, and address issues that can interfere with their housing stability.

Community Action works with the Veteran to help increase income through employment and access to benefits, so they can maintain their housing once the immediate crisis has passed. They also help participants resolve barriers to housing placement and retention, addressing needs involving legal, health, transportation, child care, or other concerns that contribute to housing instability.

The SSVF Program is supported in part by a grant from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
