PROGRAM:              Senior Transportation Services
POSITION:                Substitute Senior Transportation Driver
LOCATION:              Calhoun County
CLASSIFICATION:  Part time

POSITION SUMMARY


Under the general direction of the Logistics Manager the position transports senior citizens and/or special needs clients to designated programs.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transports clients to designated programs such as the senior citizen's center or training classes. Ensures safety and well-being of individuals being transported.

  • Conducts pre-trip inspection including assuring all fluid levels are maintained and observes and reports any malfunction to the Logistics Manager.

  • Maintains and monitors records of attendance and appointments. Reports schedule changes to the Logistics Manager.

  • Compiles and maintains necessary paperwork such as mileage logs and submits reports to the Logistics Manager.

  • Performs daily custodial duties to maintain a clean bus interior for passengers.

  • Complete all accident reports as required and submit to the Logistics Manager on a timely basis.

  • Maintain accurate log of drive time and down time.

  • Attend meetings as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager or Director.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge normally acquired through a general high school education.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Between one to three years of progressively more responsible or expansive experience is required.

SALARY: $9.50/hour

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public, departmental supervisors and staff. Must be able to maintain consistent and regular attendance and punctuality based on designated to work schedule.

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE:  Must possess a valid Chauffeurs license. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required, and a driving record in compliance with Community Action insurance carrier requirements and state law mandates. CPR certification is required (Will train).
